TALK ON JOHN KERRY AND THE BOTOX SHOTS
Laura in LA: Okay, Arty, watching the debate been leaning on my final opinion but, I'm gonna call it . .. Kerry's hit the botox shots. Since I live in LA, consider me somewhat of an expert. I've seen more stiff foreheads and stationary eyebrows than I care to mention. I would bet the ranch, if I had one. The only thing moving are his lips. And he’s got total sag at the base of the brows – skin tends to sag a bit when the muscles have been paralyzed when the eyes have not been done (plastic surgery). Kerry did it backasswards. Botox is useless if you are very wrinkled and sagging. It works when the lines start and deepen. So, if you already too far gone, you need to tighten up the skin a bit with a nip and tuck around the eyes, and the botox is the assist and prevention of further lines. The great looking older ladies tell me that you want to do little things in stages so you don’t look over done and over tight like Carol Burnett.

Arty P.: Thanks Laura for your expertise on the Kerry/Botox thing. It was interesting Chris Wallace was on Fox + Friends this morning, and he said he interviewed JK early in the morning and he said he thought the botox thing was false - because Kerry looked terrible. But what you say explains how he could have looked terrible even after the process. Anyway continuing on this serious note I am still chortling over Joe Lieberman's strained claim that coming 5th in the New Hampshire primary was in fact the same as coming 3rd.
From MSNBC
“Thanks to the people of New Hampshire, we are in a three-way split decision for third place,” he said. When Joe finally drops out of the Presidential race, can I suggest he be put in charge of the next Olympics?
With his accounting methods I should be a shoo-in for the Bronze in the 100m sprint. ;-)
Arty P

Becky O.: Who gives a rip about the Botox issue. There isn't one of the democratic candidates or Bush that hasn't had cosmetic work done. Dean has things done continually and was heavy on the eyeliner in his interview after the debate last night. (I am assuming those of you throwing the stones are all total knock outs) I think we should all be a little more focused on the issues that actually matter. I've had botox myself, so shoot me. John Kerry is the only candidate who has the resume to take Bush on regarding security and military issues. As far as people complaining about the records of any of our senators, they should be aware that most of the time yes and no votes do not tell the entire story. A lot of times they vote as they do because they have submitted their own version of a bill. Often times a bill regarding the environment ends up with a healthcare issue tagged on to the bottom of it. If anyone is concerned about a candidates record, they should be concerned about Deans. Dean had his records as Governor of Vermont sealed for 10 years (he tried for 20. He was quoted saying that he wanted them sealed to "avoid embarrassment in case he ran for president". Yes, other governors have done it. But, not for 10 years and they were not running for President. None of the excuses he has giving are valid. (To protect peoples privacy) That’s a crock...peoples names are omitted when those records are released. He also said on hardball that he would unseal his records if Bush would unseal his. Not to smart on his part, even I knew Bush's records had already been unsealed. (His computer junkies aren’t that smart after all.) By the way..he never did unseal his records. As far as I am concerned, I'm sick of listening to him complain about other peoples records, when he has hidden his. I'll give him this, it has been quite humorous watching to see which Howeird will show up from day to day as he continually recreates who he is. His latest treatment of Joe Trippy sums it up very well. I think Wes Clark seems to be a nice man. I think he has been thrown to the wolves and has made far too many mistakes along the way. He has zero experience with domestic issues. John Edwards is cute as can be. However, his huge attorney money connections, zero Pro Bono cases, questionable tax issues and 4 year rookie status are going to bite him in the back if he ever takes front runner status. As of now, the media and Carl Rove have been letting him slide. I have been watching John Kerry for over 4 years and I am quite confident that he is the guy that will stand up for the needs of average Americans. I like the fact that he does not want to repeal the tax cut for the middle class. His healthcare plan was deemed to be the best by experts in Newsweek magazine. I love his passion for the development of new energy and his record on protecting environmental issues is outstanding.

Ann Stewart: I heard about this...They are just ragg'in on him cause he is the man ahead in the race...They need to lay off...This is almost like the time they degraded Kerry for the curse word...Please...This is just ignorant. Bush was caught on Tape cursing at a reporter when he was campaigning back in the first race for President and he went on to be President...He called a reporter an Asshole...I can remember when they were picking on Kerry for saying a curse word...So what...it happens...It's not an issue and Stuff like surgeries like that should be private in my opinion anyway. I have to say I have done parody on the way Kerry looks too...I compared him to Herman Munster...but how he looks is not the issue...They need to lay off on it.

TALK ON HOWARD DEAN’S ELECTION FALL Cindy: I just heard from Jack (Caffery from CNN’s American Mornings) that Howard Dean said his supporters may not receive paychecks for a few weeks hmmmm. Maybe he is our man. Let him get into the White House maybe he could stop Congress from giving themselves raises. Way to go Howard. I was sitting on the fence. Now I am not.
Cindy from Va

Ann Stewart: You know Cindy...Than maybe all that talk they did on how much money Howard Dean raised in his campaign was a little bit hyped up.

Keith Brekhus: The FEC Reports show Dean legitimately raised 40 million last year. The expenditures for this filing period haven't been released...but he did raise the money. The real question is did he spend it all already? Apparently, yes but when the next FEC statement is filed we will know for sure.

Ann Stewart: Keith what do you think now...good buddy...It's just not looking good for Dean...Amazing how fast it changed too.

Keith Brekhus: Honestly I think Dean has jumped the shark. I'm voting for him next Tuesday, but his campaign is running on life support now. I haven't seen a serious presidential primary campaign in this sorry a shape since well um...since that John Kerry fellow back in December of 2003. Funny how much things change in a month. I agree...it doesn't look good for Dean right now. I think Kerry will get the nomination...although Edwards and Clark and Dean are still longshots, but Kerry is on cruise control right now. As for Dean...I'm willing to go down with the ship. Then when I am just about to drown I'll try to swim over from Dean's Titanic to Kerry's tugboat and ram into that Bush iceberg until we knock it into the sea. Sorry for all the tortured metaphors and bad analogies
folks :-).

Wayne in Missouri: Keith,--I don't think it is quite as grim for Dean as it appears. I think his plan is to not advertise on the 2/3 states, save the money for the caucuses on Washington, Maine and Michigan. Win two of those and he has good momentum heading into the big state primaries of California and New York where he has a lot of appeal. The death of his campaign like the previously announced death of Kerry's campaign is greatly exaggerated. True the race is now Kerry's to lose. But it is far from over and Dean still has a chance to make an impact on the shape of the race to come.

Ann Stewart: Look at all the endorsements that Dean has had…Al Gore… Carol Moseley Braun…Ann Richardson are just a few of them…I don’t think endorsements work very well…I think it is more of how the candidate acts in public and like I said before Dean did not debate well.

JOHN KERRY WINS NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARIES
Ann Stewart: OK folks it looks like Kerry is the winner in New Hampshire. Now he has won New Hampshire and Iowa...How many of you still think Dean has a chance in this election race? He finished second…Pretty far behind too, but he looks to be the only other choice to Kerry…Unless Edwards or Clark is hanging in there somewhere. What do you think will happen next?

Sindhu Kumar: Kerry has the momentum. If senators Edwards and Liberman want to be the nominee, they have got to get past Kerry, dean and Clark to win the southern primaries beginning next Tuesday. I think Kucinich and Sharpton drop out.

Ann Stewart: Thanks Sindhu...You are the best...I will use that comment...I got a call from Kerry's campaign people today...They want me to come work for them...Gee I wonder how they got my home number. They must be campaigning hard in Tennessee. That's cool though it's nice to hear from them.

Steve Bohannon: Mr. Dean seems to have lost the wind out of his sails. May be in trouble, despite his big warchest, if he doesn't win in New Hampshire, and he's evidently trailing Kerry there. Wow, what a difference a few days and a caucus out in rural Iowa make.

Ann Stewart: I will say one thing about Kerry and Dean…I watched the Debates on TV and when Dean was the front runner Kerry attacked him in those debates on a regular basis…and Dean never did debate well…He was always on the defensive. He either didn’t talk much or didn’t talk well. He made mistakes…like when the African American man asked him about the statement he made about the confederate flag…Dean should have apologized right then there and said if this offends you I’m sorry and then explain what he meant to say, but instead he didn’t apologize until the next day. It’s mistakes like that..that made Dean look bad in this race…He didn’t humble himself enough…But he was being attacked by Kerry though out the early debates…but when Dean ran adds in Iowa and attacked the other Candidates after being slammed and attacked by them on a regular basis…All the sudden Dean looked like the bad guy…when it was Kerry who attacked first…Kerry Just looked better or smarter when he did it. That’s just my opinion.

Sindhu Kumar: Ann-- congratulations! See your site is really taking off. I think you should go and work for Senator Kerry at least at the local level. And should it continue you may get a chance to go to Boston for the annual convention.

Ann Stewart: Gee I don't know about Sindhu...but thanks...I don't really think it's because of this site that they called...I went to Kerry site a few times and left my information...So that could be where they got my number from...I just never thought they would call me.

TALK ON THE GAY ISSUE Ann Stewart: On the gay issue…how could you explain why God made hermaphrodites if gay wasn’t something that you could be born with?…I mean I’m not gay…but gay people do have to survive just like everybody else…I do think they should have the rights to financial help from the government just like we get from the government and also the same kind of benefits as married couples do…but I don’t support the idea of Gay Marriages…Civil Unions would be fine with me…just my opinion.

Arty P.: Ann-- "But on the gay issue…how could you explain why God made hermaphrodites if gay wasn’t something that you could be born with?…" This is one issue I know even gays themselves don’t agree on - whether it is nature or nurture. And like abortion it is one issue I don’t really like to take a strong position because I feel it affects other people more directly than me so they should be the ones to sort it out among themselves.

TALK ON DR. RUSSELL BLAYLOCK AND MSG
JOY: I HEARD THAT NUTRA SWEET MAKES YOU LOSE YOUR MEMMORY AND HAS TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. LIKE HEADACES AND STUFF. IF I DRINK A LOT OF DIET SODA WITH NURTA SWEET IN IT, I GET HEADACES. IT COULD BE THE CAFFINE THOUGH. I HEARD CAFFINE DOES THAT TO YOU TOO.

Rebel: Hi Joy. My dad was drinking diet drinks & had really bad headaches. When I told him to stop drinking it the headaches stopped. The New England Journal of Medicine printed a report attributing 3200 cases of epileptic type seisures to Nutra Sweet. It is another excitotoxin, like msg & they both CAUSE obesity among other things.

Ann Stewart: Rebel I was told products with Splenda were OK to drink while on diets like Atkins and Weight Watchers...Have you heard about the product Splenda vs. Nutra Sweet? I heard Splenda is much better for you...I was told it's made from sugar...but has no calories...is that true?... and how could it be made from sugar and still have no calories? That is so hard to believe...One person told me it doesn't digest in your stomach that it just passes right though your system...I don't know if that is true or not, but that is what I heard.

Keziah: I read what you were saying about the Nutra Sweet thing, about the chemical they use in diet drinks and such. It's true about them being a cause of health complications. I was talking to my dentist about this when I went to get my teeth checked last Saturday (I just got my braces off, at last and I am thrilled!!!!!!). So he was telling me that he used to drink diet sodas all the time but stopped after he heard that the 'diet' ingredients cause esophacal cancers and were making people sick. I know a lot of people that would get stomach aches whenever they drank diet sodas. The FDA really needs to start testing testing those products before putting them out there. Cause it's not until a lot of people get sick or die that they are discovering that not all seemingly 'harmless' products are. Remember years ago with that whole phenfen thing.

Rebel: If you want to learn more about nutra sweet & other foods that will kill you go to www.dorway.com/doctors.html there is alot of really good info by a lot of doctors & also what you can do to help repair some of the damage.

Ann Stewart: Thanks Rebel...Are you a Doctor?...or just really smart at this stuff.

Scarlet Termite: As far as NutraSweet and other artifical sweeteners that are supposed to be bad for you are concerned, I just say that I would like to look at the lab results first. A number of years ago when the saccharine scare happened, the fear was that if you ate and drank foods and sodas with it that you would get cancer. Later, the empirical evidence showed that a person would have to drink 50 sodas a day for the rest of their life to get the amount of saccharine in the system that the researchers introduced into the lab rats. The same thing happened with the nitrite in the bacon and with the food coloring Red #5. Researchers need to grants for their research but the folks that give them the money want some bang for their buck so the scientists have to , not lie, but exaggerate a tad and the media (sorry Bill) will snag it and run that sucker into the endzone and do the Chicken Dance with it. All the public ever sees is the headlines and the worse part of the story. So the moral of this small missive is, don't believe everything you see and only half of what you hear.....til you get the credible evidence to back it up.

Ann Stewart: BUG I USE SPLENDA...HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THAT? I HAVE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT...BUT IT'S NEW SO OF COURSE THEY DON'T KNOW ALL THAT MUCH ABOUT IT'S AFFECTS ON YOUR BODY...

Scarlet Termite: I use Splenda, too, Annibelle. It's really good!

Ann Stewart: Yeah it is..but I hope future medical Science don't find out later on down the road that Splenda causes Cancer or kidney failure or something...It seems like that happens a lot...

Rebel: If you want to see the scientific proof, go to google & type in dr. blaylock - there are pages of info - check his credentails & then read Dr. Russell Blaylock's Aspartame and Pilots or Excitotoxins - the taste that kills. then you ca see for yourself. Better now than when you are diagnosed with MS or alzheimers...
Ann - you're right. This time food companies know what these things do, that's why they are calling MSG other names - to hide it in food because a lot of people are making $ billions - for example, it is in all Cambell's soups. If it 98%MSG they can call it something else - look at the food labels- carageenen & hydrolized...protein (wheat, soy, veg) & protein isolates ARE MSG!!! But they don't want you to know becasue MSG is bad for you so they call it these other names. Read Dr. Blaylock's or Dr. Cabot's stuff - lots of proof.

Ann Stewart: OK Rebel...I also found this Interview with Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock that talks more about it...I find this interesting cause I have drank Diet Sodas for years and I stuggle with my weight...So thanks for the infomation. You're the best!!!

You know Rebel…It seems like every time there is a new product put out at first everybody thinks it great and then later on medical science finds out it has bad side affects and can hurt you or something, it seems like everything can be bad for you…I’m just waiting for the day when doctors tell us breathing oxygen is going to kill us.

  TALK ON ANN COULTER
Arty: She looks like a shaved horse in a fright-wig!

Laura in LA: Arty, I am still chuckling at your comment that Ann Coulter looks like a "shaved horse in a fright wig" . . priceless. I'm stealing that one ... fair use, baby. ;o)

Arty: As you might have guessed I am not the biggest fan in the world of Ann Coulter. I think she does conservatism harm by saying stupid needlessly offensive things and undermining what might be reasonably good points . Then she pretends she was joking – as if an unfunny offensive joke is any better than an offensive straight line!

And she makes up things in her books. It is a true fact that conservatives are often treated like they must be idiots. But since Ann put that in her book as soon as you say that now,
people just say "Oh well Ann Coulter said that. So it probably isn't true!"

Also it is not of course important what a person looks like of whatever sex but I am a fan of aging gracefully. There is a point (and I hope I do not offend anyone here) past which waist length hair is no longer becoming on a lady and just looks a bit creepy. Ann Coulter has long since passed that and is starting to look like one of those 70 year old women who wear shiny blonde wigs and imagine people think its their real hair. Then
you get some conservative men who feel the need to pretend she is still attractive just because she annoys people no the left (laudable though that is!). If you want to see my idea of an attractive conservative woman look at Kiran Chetry who works for Fox News. She makes Ann Coulter look like Norman Bates mom at the end of Psycho.

SETTLING ONCE AND FOR ALL WHO IS LOWERING THE STANDARD OF PUBLIC
DISCOURSE IN AMERICA.
http://redwhiteandright.blogspot.com

Ann Stewart: You know Arty getting back to your post on ANN COULTER...I kinda understand the point she makes cause you almost can't say anything today with out offending someone out there...I mean it may not be your intent, but almost anything can offend someone...Take my blog Talk of Men for example...My Blog was created to talk about what women consider to be fine handsome men...and Keziah (who is a fan of CNN) the other day made a comment that a news reporter was sexy like Count Dracula and I posted the Sesame Street Count Dracula picture next to him and someone else felt like we was degrading him...When in reality we admire him, I just made that parody because of what she said and I think the count Dracula from sesame street is cute...Keziah thinks Count Dracula has a sexy seductive side to him. That is all she meant by that. So you almost can't say anything today without offending someone...That why everybody deserves Free Speech cause other people will disagree and think it is a complement...So you just can’t please everyone. Some one is always going to take it the wrong way. That is kinda what I think ANN COULTER might be trying to say...And anything can be considered Slander even if it is put in a parody or comic way...I get that all the time on my blog...A lot of my blog is parody...and people just take it the wrong way cause no one wants the joke to be put on them...People can make fun of me all they want and I will agree with them...but when it's done to them they don't consider it so funny sometimes...or somebody out there with think you are degrading someone, when you don’t intend it that way at all...so it seems like you just can't even hardly open your mouth sometimes or talk about anybody without someone get ticked off or getting the wrong message...I have not read ANN COULTER'S Book...but I will check it out cause it sounds like she might have gone though something that I am going though as well...   TALK ON MICHAEL JACKSON
Keziah: That whole Michael Jackson case, it's sad really. He's so talented and has contributed so much to the World. But he's not taking all that's happening seriously, he just makes it worse by acting so immature. It's as if he doesn't see the seriousness of what is happening.

Ann Stewart: Boy you got that right Keziah…. my dear friend…I saw him on CNN on top of the car and took some pictures of it…I remember Jeff Tooblin reported saying some people could have gotten seriously hurt from his stunt and he just complained of being brutally beaten by the police and he was suppose to have a hurt shoulder and he just didn’t seem hurt that day so no one felt like the brutality claims he made were real…but I wasn’t there and I don’t know…I do know a lot of people think he is guilty already…Jackson has just been accused of child molestation to many times now. So the majority of the world thinks he’s guilty already and he should see that alone is serious, whether he wins or loses in this court case. Of course I would feel really sorry for him if he wasn't guilty, but it's hard not to think he is.

THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
Ann Stewart: Did you guys watch The State of The Union Address tonight?...Ted Kennedy was making me laugh my butt off...He just sit there rolling his eyes back in his head and shaking his head no to almost everything the President said...He was so disrespectful...I wonder why the man even came to the event?...He seemed to be hating every minute of the speech...I got pictures of it too...It really was funny...but rude.

Sindhu Kumar: Senator Edward Kennedy was never a person who took a liking to Bush policies with the exception of the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND EDUCATION ACT. He was one of the sponsors of that bill for which he was invited to the white house when Bushie signed it into law.

Laura in LA: I listened to the speech on the net – did not catch the Ted eye rolls but I can imagine. Bush is vulnerable and he knows it – he basically promised the moon and the stars on the domestic front. More programs that cannot be funded like “no child left behind.” Polls are at around 50/50 so it will be close. Dems have a shot. Bush is irritating his base as well. Michael Savage is calling for Bush’s impeachment. LOL The WSJ blasted BushCO today as well. .. accused Congress of “spending like drunken sailors.”

The sanctity of marriage act is ridiculous – Bush is a homophobe. He invoked God in reference to that act and I think that was a bad move. Why is it that the Republicans are for States rights and smaller gov’t but when it comes to equal rights for gays and lesbians, they want to enact a Federal Law blocking equal rights to a small percentage of the American population? The States should decide. The Republicans keep whining about liberal activist judges but, in Mass polls showed that a majority were okay with gay marriage. The Judges ruling in Mass reflected the will of the people in that state so, that’s that. The Republicans are too afraid to admit that their opposition to equal rights for gays is based on their religion – you don’t see them citing their bible.

Also, why should our tax dollars go to teach abstinence? That is a personal issue and it’s up to the parents to teach their children about sex. Anybody with even a small amount of common sense and life experience knows that humans have sex. We are animals after all and sex is not some evil, bad thing that we should mandating laws to impose moral guidelines upon. Sex is the most personal of issues and I don’t want my gov’t in my business and in my bedroom. If I had children, I’d open that dialogue with my children in the manner I see fit. Better to be open about the issue and teach safe sex. To simply say “don’t do it,” and use fear to deter them by telling them “if you have sex, you get nasty sexually transmitted diseases,” is negligent. In the end, at some point in time, they will be “weak” and have sex because we are supposed to have sex to propagate the species. .. I hope someone gave them a condom for use in their moment of weakness. BushCO instead does not want to educate children about safe sex and condom use because they think it promotes that nasty, evil sex. When did sex and nudity become such a bad thing? As Howard Dean said, “when did the republican party become the party of social intolerance? I agree, can’t you guys just get back to the GOP of old – small government, less government, fiscal responsibility … that I can deal with. But, this kinda stuff crosses the line with me. Does anybody else find it disturbing that BushCO is trying to mandate morals based on their Christian beliefs? Does it ever cross their narrow little minds that there are millions of us out here in the real word that don’t subscribe to those beliefs. We like sex and have varying views of its place in our lives. Personally, I think you have to give it test drive before you buy it. I would never wait until marriage to have sex. What if your partner totally sucks in bed? Sex is an important part of a relationship – not the only thing but, you sure get along better when it’s all good in that department.

DC: Ann, Laura's comments aren't great, only naive! Bush was referring to some 13 year old out there experiencing with sex for the first time and contacting some STD, she speaks of the propagation the species. Laura, I see plenty of lies and half truths in your words! Believe what you may! Like I said, Bush could save your mother from being hit by a truck, you'd find a reason to dismiss the act!

  KERRY WINS THE IOWA CAUCUS
Ann Stewart: Kerry wins Iowa and Gephardt drops out of the race, John Edwards comes in 2nd and Dean is 3rd. …Do any of you have any comments on this?Read the re-action from the people at the 2004 Online Election Debate:

Keziah: Hey Ann--Did you see that Kerry is leading the Iowa caucus by a hair. I hope the best person wins and whoever it is gets their act together and their momentum going. Because that whole round of Democratic debates was all about bashing each other instead of telling us all about themselves and why we should choose them as our next President. But really, I wasn't really convinced by any of them. At first I liked Kerry, but he just became about what Dean was doing, what Dean had done and so on. Really, it just got annoying. So hopefully the caucus will get them seriously organized and focused on the real issues at hand instead of what they find wrong with each other.

Sindhu Kumar: Congressman Gephardt: you fought the good fight. Patti…..you Kerry supporter, from Washington state: your guy won Iowa. now on to him to win in his own backyard, that is New Hampshire.

DC: Now, I could vote for Edwards! He is a decent man! Kerry too! Just really can't stand Dean or Clark! Democrats have a real solid group! Sure beat the hell out of Bush, McCain, Forbes, Keyes, Bauer from 2000 repubs! I knew Dean wasn't going to perform well, he is too mean! Too bad Gephardt has to bow out, he is a great individual! Laura, is Dean/Clark still your wetdream?

Keziah: I am glad that Kerry won. Out of all the candidates, I think he knew the issues best. I hope he beats Bush and we can get the America we Love back!

Sindhu Kumar: I hope senator Kerry wins New Hampshire but I think the polls are very tight in that state as well. I would like see to Kerry win and make the run for considering some of the former candidates as his choices of vice president, and cabinet secretaries.

Laura in LA: Kerry and Edwards cannot be the nominee as they both have a really big problem: they both voted for the war resolution and then turned around and voted against the 87 billion to send to Iraq. The GOP will have a field day with that. How can either Kerry or Edwards argue that they are stronger in foreign policy when the GOP will argue that did not support the troops that THEY sent off to war? Kerry and Edwards will be "Mr flip Flop" on the war coming out of gate. It is simply not good strategy to chose Kerry or Edwards. If people want to vote on their being "nice guys" or Vietnam vets, they are missing the big picture going in the general election. They lost their credibility on foreign policy with those votes on Iraq. I'm still working and supporting Dean because I think Kerry and Edwards "war" votes are whacked - hypocrisy at its worst. But, if not Dean, Clark must be the nominee. Only Dean or Clark can present a clear "choice" - an alternative to Bush.

Wayne in Missouri: Laura,--I'm still working for Dean too. Now that Gephardt has dropped, I hope Dean can win Missouri on 2/3. Likewise Clark is my 2nd choice. I think the ultimate hypocrisy in Iowa was that Kucinich supporters threw their support behind Edwards. Not that his supporters mattered for the overall results (Gephardt's supporters where Gephardt couldn't get 15%, lining up behind Kerry and Edwards mattered more) but I just found the Kucinich-Edwards alliance odd. That said, wish I was in a caucus state. All that horsetrading looked more fun that just marking a circle on an opscan sheet.

Patti Ferschke: I just wanted to stop by and say I'm not here to gloat. I'm here to say that I have stuck with John Kerry through thick, thin and the thick of all the division. I couldn't take the abuse present on any discussion of John's patriotism (or lack of it) and service to this country. I just want some moments to celebrate this extraordinary human being and his wonderful family. We will truly take our country back with Kerry at the helm and we will take the south with us on this journey. John's a closer as we all found out tonight. Peace, E1.

Ann Stewart: I'm chanting "PATTI PATTI PATTI PATTI PATTI PATTI PATTI" Don't ever leave us again... Stay here and gloat all you want.

PICK ONE: WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THE IOWA CAUCUS?

Ann Stewart: Iowa is a weird state. Four of the Candidates John Kerry, Dick Gephardt, Howard Dean and John Edwards could possible win this state...It's like to close to call. Has this happened before? Who wants to lay down some bets as to who will win? I don’t mean with money of course. I live in Tennessee we can’t gabble here…but who do you think will win in the Iowa Caucus? I will post your answers and we will see on Monday. Go to the 2004 Online Election Debate and tell us who you think will win.

Scarlet Termite: Kerry might win Iowa but he won't win the nomination. It's all about screen presence and looks, baby! The Howard and Wesley are the Dem nominees.
And that's the way it is....

Joe Shea: WHY JOHN KERRY WILL WIN (American Reporter Correspondent) BRADENTON, Fla.. -- Sen. John Kerry has a steep uphill grade ahead of him on the trail to the White House. His front-running campaign has been pushed into third or fourth place by the insurgent campaigns of Gov. Howard Dean and Gen. Wesley Clark, and Rep. Richard Gephardt's network of unions and party leaders is propelling him towards what looks to be a second-place finish behind Dean. But whatever the choice in Iowa, for America John Kerry remains the man most capable of leading this nation towards a stronger economy at home and a more successful America abroad. He is simply the most tested, the most experienced, the most honest and the most intelligent of all the Democratic and Republican candidates for the presidency…..

Keith Brekhus: Latest Zogby Iowa tracking poll:
Kerry 22%
Dean 21%
Gephardt 21%
Edwards 17%
Its going to be a dogfight.

  TALK ON THE CANNIBAL CASE
Ann: Did anybody see Anderson Cooper’s 360? There was a story of Cannibalism, where a guy ran an add on the internet for 3 years trying to find someone who wanted to be eaten, and some guy responded to it. He wanted to be eaten. I don’t know if I believe that or not. But that just shows you how dangerous the Internet can be. He filmed the whole thing. He cut out part of his organs cooked them and fed it to the man and ate it himself and than he killed the guy. I guess after they got done eating. Talk about a bad last meal. He ate his own organs before he died. Oh gross. Anderson Cooper called it the most bizarre story of the day. I think this happened in Germany. Man what a freak. I hope they legally throw the book at him for that. I call it murder. I don’t care if the guy volunteered to die; it’s still murder in my book.

Doraemon: Hi Ann - I did see that story...what a freak!! Anderson didn't even know where to start with that...he seemed so shocked or confused didn't know what to do with the story!!

Ann: That should go down in history to be one of the freakiest stories of they year.

Mouse: I agree with you. He is from my area where I grow up. This story was going on for a while. Everybody is chocked how easygoing (Armin M. the guy who ate the/a people/person.) is taking his trail. He seems to be very relaxed. That thing is we don't have a death sentence in Germany. In these particular case I would like to hear these sentences, but he get live time jail and if he behaves he gets free earlier He is only 42. So buy the time he is 60 or so he will be a free man again. Also ready for his retirement. Probably paid by the German government. Many of these crazy people commit the crime then again. That what a statistic says. The bad or angry part is our pedestrians are very comfortable they look like hotels they have a gym, pool/inside outside whirlpool. I look forward to the outcome of the trail maybe laws will be changed. I hope

Panda:Eeeew! That stuff with the cannibal in Germany? Freaked me out beyond repair. But the "Nth Degree" with Santa was kind of humorous, so I didn't feel so bad at the end of the night. That's still weird. I mean, granted there's nothing on the books about cannibalism in Germany, but c'mon. Is there really a need for a law for or against cannibalism?

Laura in LA: Ann, did not see that story - that's the sickest thing I have ever heard. My stomach rolled reading your post. You can bet now everybody's on the net looking for the "film." The fascination with the macabre seems to be wired into the human brain. Everyone was into those "faces of death" videos years ago - ya know, footage of people dying horrific deaths. I could not watch it and I don't think I have that "wiring." I cannot find anything "cool" about someone being ripped to shreds by a bear. Nor can I separate the "gore" from the fact that it's a human being that died. I think about the fact that the person who died was loved and needed. I think about the pain and fear and how terrible it is that his/her children will not have a parent, etc.

THIS IS NOT PARODY...THIS IS REAL TALK
TALK ON THE FIRST AMENDMENT AND ANDERSON COOPER
Ann: I was watching Anderson Cooper's show and they were talking about the first amendment where it talks about Free Speech. It seems as though there is a website that was made by killers. It teaches people how to kill and rape...they are in prison and they are able to make these websites...I would say free speech is good...but I would say if your in prison you should lose the right to free speech and it could be control there. I think the laws we have now have just not caught up with the internet.

Panda: I was under the impression that the First Amendment didn't apply to the Internet, and that anything that was posted online could be scrutinized or something like that. The amendment hasn't caught up with technology, and although I don't condone those websites that make killers out to be heroes, I do think the Internet in its entirety should be protected by the Constitution. (Panda's been watching 'Crossfire' lately, so we have to excuse her if she sounds a little preachy for the next couple of days :-p)

Jc3: Anyway, Anderson TiVos: Law and Order SVU (His favorite of all the Law and Order shows), L&O Criminal Intent, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Anderson Cooper 360 (He aknowledges it may seem egotistical, but you have to watch to figure out what to change), 60 Minutes, and Primer Impacto (a Spanish language news show with daily astrological forecasts by Walter Mercado: a Spanish Liberace. All this even though Anderson doesn't speak Spanish). I want to speak privately with Matt.

Ann: I found this funny picture of Anderson scratching at his nose. Just thought I would post it for you Anderson Cooper lovers.

TALK ON CLARK AND DEAN FROM THE 2004 ONLINE ELECTION DEBATE
Ann Stewart: As the Democratic Primaries are narrowing down, 2 men seem to be ahead in the race at this point. Here is small comparison between Candidates Wesley Clark and Howard Dean.

Lois: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLARK AND DEAN...
When Dean talks, he loses supporters.
When Clark talks, he gains supporters.

Laura in LA: Lois….. Clark will make a wonderful VP!

Wayne in Missouri: Lois, when you mention Clark, I think of Clark Kent and Lois Lane for some reason ;-). I'd love to back general Clark as Dean's VP candidate or as the front of the ticket if Dean isn't the nominee.

Arty P.: Personally I don't think much of Wesley Clarke as a candidate. First of all he seems like he just wants to be president more than he has any commitment to anything - if there was a Democratic incumbent he'd probably be running as a Republican.

Ann Stewart: Arty...I think people like Wesley Clark cause he has a military background...Other than that he doesn't seem to have any appeal that Dean doesn't have...The military background is what seems to be giving Clark a little bit of a edge.

Keith Brekhus: Difference Between Clark and Dean:
When Gephardt, Kerry, and Lieberman talk they talk about Dean so much he gains supporters. As long as Dean is the discussion, Dean will win.

Pascal: From my point of view, you seem to have a real great candidate with Wesley Clark.
It's important to have clever guys at the head of the world!
Goodbye!

Jay: If you haven’t figured out that we are only in Iraq for the oil, then you have not been paying attention. General Clark knows this.

DC: Well Laura.....I really don't think Clark was all that opposed to the Iraq war, regardless of what he is currently stating! He is a Republican in democratic clothing, so obviously I would support him! I do think he is a bit of a blow, when he stated that he would already have captured bin Laden! All of these candidates are saying what they need to attract votes, waffling begins after the nomination and subsequent election! They all will do it, the democrats, the republicans, it is written on the wall!

Ann Stewart: Judging from the kind of statements I’m getting on the internet, I would say that Clarks support has seemed to pick up a little bit on the World Wide Web. He seems to have a lot more supporters posting in at the online election debate.

DC: My interest in Wesley Clark has been rising, he has the experience to protect our country as well has a pretty sharp intellect. I think the Dean supporters, are backing the wrong candidate! Tell us Jennifer, what do you like about Bush ?
